This set of dates is tentative based on the availability of Room 503-The Jerry Melton Theater and The Theater at Hollywood High for auditions and rehearsals for Hollywood Idol-2012 on May 4, 2012. All auditions and rehearsals are scheduled for 3:30 P.M.-5:00 P.M. and signed parent documents are required for students to attend. Students must attend all rehearsals to be part of the show.

Hollywood Idol-2011
Rehearsals continue for Hollywood Idol-2011, scheduled for April 15, 2011 in an afternoon Advisory in the Hollywood High School auditorium. Seating music is scheduled for 1:39-1:51 P.M. and start of show begins at 1:51 P.M.
The order of performance has been finalized for the nine acts in the show:

Idol rehearsals are proceeding with full participation by selected performers. School Based Management approved an afternoon Advisory on April 15, providing an uninterrupted eighty-five minute window for Hollywood Idol-2011. Remaining rehearsal dates are Wednesdays March 23, March 30, April 6; mandatory auditorium rehearsal dates are Wednesday, April 13 and Thursday, April 14.

Two warm-up acts are being considered: an opening number by select Idol cast members of the television show Glee hit "Don't Stop Believing," and a fast-paced Human Beatbox performance.

Auditions
Thank you for attending yesterday's planning meeting for Hollywood Idol-2011. Auditions are now scheduled for acts in Group A and Group B. If your act is labeled Group A, you will be expected to audition on Wednesday, February 23 in Room 503 at your assigned time; if your act is labeled Group B, you will be expected to audition on Wednesday, March 2 in Room 503 at your assigned time. Acts must be prepared and ready to perform; if your act misses its audition time, other acts will perform and your act will be placed last in the order and may not be able to audition if the time runs past 5:00 P.M. All parent permission letters and Los Angeles Unified School District Parent/Guardian Publicity Authorization and Release letters are due from all contestants on the day of their auditions.

Hollywood Idol-2011
The planning meeting for Hollywood Idol-2011 is scheduled for 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday, February 16 in Room 503. Only those students who submitted an Idol interest form are permitted to attend; no guests please. It is important to bring the signed parent permission letter to this meeting. This parent permission letter was delivered to you in your Advisory class on Monday, February 14. Students must be prepared to specifically describe their performance, including choice of music, dance and choreography routines, wardrobe choices and names and responsibilities of group members. An additional meeting is planned for February 23, where students will audition their performances so that acts may be chosen for the show.
Those entrants who did not list an Advisory teacher for each member in the group are responsible for providing a parent permission letter to everyone in their group; that letter is due at Wednesday's meeting.
NO FOOD OR DRINK IS PERMITTED IN ROOM 503, THE AUDITORIUM, THE STAGE AND DRESSING ROOMS!

Interested performers for this year's Hollywood Idol must print and complete an interest form by Friday, February 11, and submit it to Mr. Carmicle in Room 422. You will receive an e-mail invitation to the first planning meeting for the show, and learn about audition and rehearsal dates.
