Auditions and Rehearsals

Auditions are scheduled for Friday, January 15 and Friday, January 22 (if needed) in Room 503 at 3:30 P.M.  Send music file or link to jcarmicl@lausd.net by Thursday, January 14 for approval--no explicit or suggestive lyrics are permitted.

Acts selected for this year's Hollywood Idol 2016 will be chosen on Tuesday, January 26 and posted on the door of Room 422.  Eight acts are definite for the show lineup and four acts will be listed as fringe, in case there is time for additional acts to be included or if any of the eight acts drop out of the lineup.

Rehearsals are in Room 503 at 3:30 on the following Friday dates (no acts may miss rehearsals per the parent permit letter that was submitted):

Organizational Meeting

Attend an organizational meeting on Friday, December 11 at lunch in Room 422 for information about participating in this year's show, scheduled April 1, 2016.  For concerns or questions, contact Mr. Carmicle or Hollywood High School Leadership.

Hollywood Idol 2016

Interested students for music and dance acts for Hollywood Idol 2016 may submit an application to Room 422.  Questions may be directed to Mr. Carmicle.

Hollywood Idol 2016 is scheduled for April 1, 2016, during a minimum day bell schedule, which was approved by School Based Management in October 2015.

Show Week Scheduled

No rehearsals are scheduled for Monday, March 23.

Group A will rehearse in the auditorium Tuesday, March 24 after school.

Groups A and B will rehearse for sound/lighting check in the auditorium Wednesday, March 25 after school.

Groups A and B are scheduled for dress rehearsal in the auditorium Thursday, March 26 after school.

Performers should eat Breakfast in the Classroom Friday morning, March 27 and then come to the auditorium at 8:30 A.M. for a complete show run-through.  Hollywood Idol 2015 is scheduled for 11:15 A.M. on Friday, March 27.
